Turned a national volunteer committee into a coordinated program system for exams, contests, publications, resources, events, and virtual professional learning.
Many programs, one volunteer system
Excellence Through Classics supported national exams, writing contests, publications, teaching resources, grants, and member programming through a distributed volunteer network. When the pandemic closed classrooms and conferences in March 2020, the organization had no way to keep educators connected and learning.
Created and operated a national virtual learning series
I created ETC Live and built its full operating system from scratch: presenter recruitment, intake, scheduling, promotional copy, speaker agreements, materials collection, technical production, moderated Q&A, recording, and follow-up. As chair, I also coordinated executive and subcommittee work, maintained board reporting, updated strategic-plan and procedure materials, supported program chairs, and helped sustain a national calendar of contests, resources, publications, and events.

The lasting value was not a single webinar or contest. It was a clearer volunteer structure that allowed many programs and contributors to move forward together.
